There is one distinct marker of the fall season, and that’s the new fall finds that grace the shelves at Target. They serve as welcome mat to the season, bringing with them the possibilities of tables set and loaded with all the pumpkin treats, cozying up by the warm glow of a fall candle, or bringing the vibrant colors of the changing season inside.

I love the fall. I also love decorating, but sometimes I feel the urge to resist buying all the obviously fall-themed items out there (albeit who doesn’t love a pumpkin?) and try to choose pieces that compliment my space and be timeless for seasons to come. Adding hints of fall through color, pattern, and texture has become my go-to way to change up different scenes around my home while working with my existing style.

A throw blanket that is knit with threads of gold or red can bring the season right into your living room, without having to change out every pillow. You can also add a touch of fall to the spaces of your home that may be a bit overlooked. A display on your kitchen counter can be easily arranged and add just enough flavor for the season. I like to pay attention to the spaces that get a lot of traffic — my front porch or even my dining room table. Those are the places I want to say, “Welcome, Fall. I hope you stay a while.”

Shopping at Target gives me affordable options that go with any room in my home. Plus, there is always something new or on sale! To me, a trip to Target in the fall accompanied by a pumpkin cream cold brew is the best kind of therapy. I have put together a list of pieces from Target that add just the right amount of autumn to make me feel that my home is glowing like a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Kitchen Counter Styling

Kitchen counters serve as a wonderful backdrop for a seasonal touch. I know that whatever I choose to use in my kitchen needs to be durable and wipe-able. I try to style with objects that are both decorative and utility-friendly. Cutting boards are a perfect way to bring texture and color to my white kitchen. I found an autumn inspired board to add to the ones that normally grace my counters. This maple leaf cutting board can be used for display or taken to the table for a fall themed snack board! I also added some colorful potted shrubs that can easily be wiped down or shaken out (crumbs have a way of finding themselves all over my counter)!

Target Kitchen Styling for Fall

Final touches include a fabulously neutral rattan pumpkin. You’ll see one scattered about any given surface in my home these days. I love the natural texture they bring. I also added a beautiful burnt orange vase that really completes and brightens this corner of my kitchen. No fall space is complete without a yummy smelling candle. I chose a cinnamon candle to bring a bit more color into my display! It smells so delicious. If you’re styling an area with a bit more room, I recommend this wooden cake stand to add some height variety. You can throw a pumpkin, candle, or shrub on it to change up the flow. Or, use it to display some pumpkin treats. I’ve linked my favorite pumpkin bar recipe here. Another good tip is to try to keep your displays in odd number groupings — I like to style in groups of three, five or seven. Have fun with it! Fall is the perfect opportunity to bring color in the details.
