Let’s Shop Joss & Main!
Selecting Art
After I’ve spent time designing my room and getting all the main pieces in place, I look to the accessories to add that extra special intentional feel. When it comes to choosing what accessories to add to my space, I like to keep things pretty classic. I choose furniture pieces that are timeless, but add in a mixture of modern and antique details that give my home a well-rounded feel. Joss and Main has an incredible selection of art, wall hangings, furniture and lighting options all in one place. It is the best one stop shop to complete a room design. They also won’t break the bank and feel like I spent thousands in a curated antique store.
Selecting the right artwork takes time. I encourage everyone to take a piece home and try it on for size. Just because a piece is bought for a main living area, doesn’t mean it won’t work in your dining area. Take a few weeks and observe how it feels at different times of day with different lighting. Don’t be afraid to play with patterns, colors, and textures that you wouldn’t otherwise find in your space! I’m personally a big fan of gallery walls with alternating sizes and frames. My best advice is to create gallery walls in threes, fives, or sevens. Here are a few pieces that I am loving that check all the boxes for me. I think they would make a fantastic gallery wall mixed with an antique mirror or some sconces.
Grounding Your Space
Art isn’t the only way to add color to your walls. Rugs can feel like an investment piece, but they don’t have to overshadow your budget!.These rugs that are included in the cybers-sale add a classic touch and are great quality. They are tightly woven and can stand the durability test. They are another “detail” piece to your neutral space that can give your room a very unique feel, even if the rest of your pieces stay minimal in tone.
Lighting the Way
After you’ve got your floor and walls covered, it’s time to look up! Lighting can dramatically change the look and feel of your space. Adding a lamp with a warm glow lightbulb can increase the cozy factor ten-fold. Use two of the same lamps to anchor a credenza or dresser in a dining or living room. Lamps are also the perfect piece to tuck in a corner of a room with an accent chair to create a moment.
Take a Seat
Sometimes there are pieces of furniture you don’t know you need until your room is “complete.” Benches are one of those things. At the end of the bed, the corner of a seating area, or in an entry way, they really say “come and stay.” Benches are a curated choice that gives your space an extra feeling of intention. Here is one of my favorites below!
