Have I mentioned how much I love making mood board for specific rooms? There’s something so fun about designing a room from the ground up. I love the entire process—from picking out furniture, artwork, accents and lighting to finding creative ways to incorporate it all into one cohesive look. Last week I began the “Mood Board Monday” series and shared design inspiration for primary bedrooms. You can take a look at the bedroom mood boards here. Not only do I enjoy creating design inspo for different rooms of the home, but I have also gotten back so much wonderful feedback from my Instagram followers as well as requests for specific rooms designs and specific decor styles. For week 2, I created a few living room mood boards. For my family, the living room is the heart of the home. We spend so much time together in our family room! This room is where majority of our family time happens and where guests gather when they’re over for a visit. It’s where we have family movie nights and take “play” breaks throughout the day. Our living room is one of my favorite spaces in our home!

Can I just begin by saying this green sofa is the sofa of my dreams?! Not only is it green—which I consider to be a neutral—but it’s velvet! The sofa itself makes quite the statement and adds so much richness to this living room design. I am linking the sofa in the collage below, but I also wanted to link this similar green velvet sofa because it’s a bit more affordable compared to the other one. For this room I wanted to include rich colors and wood tones, soft textures and various prints and patterns. The antelope pillow covers and blue and white “marbled” table lamps were a fun way to incorporate different prints and designs that catch the eye. Overall this room is filled with lots of neutral colors like brown, cream and white, but I thought it would be fun to add this abstract art from World Market to add a pop of color. I chose the navy and white lamps because they helped pull together the blues in the room so things felt more balanced. The white curtains are from Amazon and helped to brighten up this warmer space. I recently bought and reviewed the curtains here. To shop the rest of the products featured in this room you can click here or scroll down.

This traditional living room is full of furniture and accents that will never go out of style. The white sofa has removable slipcovers that are moisture-repellant which is a must if you’re in the market for a white sofa! The pillow covers from Etsy and Ballard Designs add a fun point of interest because of their colors and soft prints. While this room is more traditional, it does feature a contemporary piece of abstract art that I came across on Etsy. The white and gold table lamps are from Target and they’re lamps I recently purchased. I was able to buy the lamps while they were on sale, and if you’re quick you may be able to get them while they’re marked down too!
