If you have been around for awhile, you know that I love a good natural fiber rug. I think they are great for so many spaces and I love the look that the natural materials bring into a space. They are also known for being durable and long lasting in high traffic areas.

Jute vs Sisal Natural Fiber Rugs

Layering this type of rug is also a fun element to add to any home. A great quality natural fiber rug can be awesome for kids and high traffic areas because they tend to hide stains well. When I am picking out this type of rug, I lean more towards a sisal made rug than a jute made rug. The main reason is the way they are generally made. Sisal rugs tend to be woven tighter so there is less fraying. They also seem to be a little thinner and don’t hold smell like a jute can. I have had both in my home and the sisal rugs are still in action while the jute rugs are long gone to the dump. I have picked out a few rugs to share with you below that I think you will really like. One thing to keep in mind is that it is normally better to order larger than you think you need! Each rug listed below will have multiple size options available.

7 Natural Fiber Rug Options

Ballard Designs Sisal Rug

Our Pottery Barn option that we used to have in our dining area has been discontinued, but I still often get asked about it! This Ballard Designs option is very similar and one I love to recommend.

Safavieh Palm Beach Collection Sisal Rug

I really love the pattern and border on this natural fiber rug! I think it brings in a little more texture than your standard sisal. It is made by a trusted brand with great reviews. The best part is that it can be found directly on Amazon in multiple different sizes.

Safavieh Natural Fiber Collection- Handmade Premium Seagrass & Cotton Area Rug

This option is great for layering! It is a thin woven style so it would be great to add a Turkish or cowhide rug on top of. I like the way the edges are bond and because it has cotton woven in, the overall feel will be a little softer. To elevate the look even more, you can add a rug pad for a little more cushion. It can also be found directly on Amazon in multiple sizes!

Safavieh Palm Beach Katzue Modern Sisal Rug

I love the pattern of this rug. The diamond maze pattern sets it apart from your standard natural fiber rug. We have a very similar rug in our downstairs guest bedroom and I think it looks great. This rug comes in two different color ways and also comes in multiple sizes. It would be great in so many different areas of your home including your living room, dining room, bedroom, office space and more!

Home Decorators Collection - Safi Natural Area Rug

This option is similar in style to the Pottery Barn option but it does not have a backing. It is much more budget friendly but may not last as long without a backing so keep that in mind. It is 1/3 inch thick and great for a kitchen or dining area! I would definitely recommend using a rug pad under this rug for extra cushion and support of the rug itself. This will help the longevity!

Safavieh Natural Fiber Collection - Border Herringbone Seagrass Area Rug

This is another big favorite of mine! The herringbone pattern looks so great and it is also available on Amazon! It is a trusted brand that comes in many different sizes. Remember that it is normally better to order bigger than you think you will actually need on any rug! This option comes in many different color ways if you are looking for something a little different but want to keep the overall natural fiber look.

Safavieh Palm Beach Collection- Handmade Seagrass Area Rug

Here is another great pattern that shows a different spin on a natural fiber rug. The diamond shapes give it a subtle design without being too overpowering. I love the color tone on this option and thing it would look great in so many different spaces! You could also layer with this rug because it is fairly thin. I would definitely recommend a rug pad to give it a little extra cushion and elevate the overall look. you can purchase this option directly from Amazon as well!
