Nightstands are such a fun way to add style to your space! I love switching them up from time to time or even updating small things on my current ones like the pulls or finish.
My preference is to flank both sides of the bed with a set, but if you’re short on space finding a wider one for the one side can be a great option. I look for a few things when choosing a nightstand. I want to ensure that they have some sort of storage potential. I keep my books, beauty products, chargers, you name it in my nightstand drawers, so choosing a set with one or two drawer options is a necessity for me.
Proportions are also super important to look for. If a piece is too tall, then it is awkward to reach for sitting next to my bed (I always keep a glass of water there). As a general rule, your nightstands should be even with the top of your mattress, or between two and four inches taller than the top of it. You also want to make sure you are leaving enough space between the bed and the stand.
Don’t be afraid to think outside the box when choosing your nightstand or to mix up the styles! You can choose two complimenting styles that are different for either side, like a his and hers, or use fun cabinets as a nightstand.
