During my last dining room makeover, I was on the hunt for new art for the space—it has been quite the journey if I’m being honest. It can be hard to find the perfect piece of art, whether it’s traditional fine art or other wall decor. First, I tried styling art that I already had in other areas of my home to see if it would work, but I quickly realized the space needed fresh pieces to make it come alive. So the hunt for new dining room wall decor began…
Large Scale Dining Room Wall Art
For the wall behind the table, I finally decided on a set of prints from Urban Garden Prints. Since I have many abstracts floating around, I wanted to balance that out with an image of some sort. I love birds and they have a beautiful heron set that I eventually chose! On many of the designs you can actually customize the colors you want—how neat?! Each print is available in various size options so I ended up ordering the largest size (30x60) in smoked oyster. You can purchase just the print and frame it yourself or you can pay for them to frame it for you! I had them frame the prints for me and they look amazing! I think it would be so beautiful to find an antique frame and do a little DIY framing, but for the specific prints I ordered, I just couldn’t pass up their frame options. Plus, the idea of the art arriving “ready to hang” really helped convince me.
As you might have seen from past posts, I accented it with these DIY pleated lampshades I made myself.
More Wall Art To Love
There are countless pieces of dining room wall art to choose from, but I rounded up some of my personal favs for you. In this mix you’ll find a lot of neutral art but I have also included several pieces that boast of beautiful bright colors:
Another Dining Room Wall Decor Idea: Oversized Mirrors
This giant leaning wall mirror was an investment piece, but it takes up an entire wall (along with the faux olive tree I have there now), so it does the job of several decor pieces in one. Plus, it reflects my bubble chandelier, which is absolutely my favorite piece in the room, and a work of art itself!

More Pieces For Your Dining Room
This pretty abstract painting with a gold frame is an affordable option from Target and I think it would look amazing in a dining space too. It is under $100!
These matted gold picture frames are great for above a small nook like my corner bar area. There are different finishes and sizes available. I love the look of a stacked set for this easy DIY I did!
